What does it mean to live in Thanksgiving? The only way to begin that journey is to first know that we are living from the redemption that Christ brought to the world through the Cross. We then have a place to reference, or measure, our gratitude against. Grace or undeserved favor! When I remember that I have been forgiven it becomes easier to forgive. Once that has been established in our hearts we then can believe all of the other great promises that God gives to us through His wonderful Word. Romans 8:28 states, "And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose." Certainly everything is not good in this world but everything entrusted to God, for His purpose, will mold into "the good" that God has in mind for us. Hopefully each of us can say without question, I am certain that I am on this journey with Christ or "in Christ". Then may we walk in absolute faith believing that He is at work for us and in us. When these truths become real in us we then can "Live in Thanksgiving"!
We have been commissioned to take the message of Hope to the world. The real question is: Are we willing to go and are we willing to share the message as we go? Jesus said for His followers to share the things that He had taught them. I must become a learner before I can become a teacher. We must sit at His feet before we can walk in His steps! Romans 6:5 states; " For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection." This is a matter of cause and effect!! God gives us many opportunities to bring glory to His wonderful name. If the Lord wills and continues to direct this matter, on Tuesday, June 16th between 4-5PM ET on "IRON SHARPENS IRON" Radio, I will be interviewed by host Chris Arnzen. We will be revealing,to all who will be tuned in, the wonderful message of hope offered here at Hebron Colony and Grace Home. I hope you will tune in to listen @ www.IronSharpensIronRadio.com. If you have any questions you wish to have answered concerning the world of substance abuse, we will try to give you a Biblical answer. You can email your questions to ChrisArnzen@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you and speaking to you. Keep on looking up and out and keep on walking!!
The only way to prioritize anything is to place a genuine value on it. We are forced to determine how it stacks up against something else. Once we have made an honest assessment of its value, then we place it into the order of our lives. The real question arises; do I have the right value system?
Jesus addressed priority and value when in Luke 9:23-26, He said; “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world and lose himself, or be cast away?" Jesus was bringing His followers to the point of decision. Were they willing to remove self in order to gain the privilege of walking and carrying? Maybe better expressed as, walking in Him or working through Him. Which life holds the greatest value, my life alone (or really on my own), my life with Him (or really in Him)? Jesus confronted them with choice and priority which results in consequences or dividends. We can gain the world, which is temporal or we can gain our lives, which is eternal. Is there really a legitimate decision? The world ends in death and life continues on forever in joy.
Hopefully each of us will re-evaluate our priorities based on a new value system and through new eyes. We can now have eyes of faith and hearts filled with truth and hope. Blessings to each of you on your new journey IN CHRIST!
